Please see the list of dates below and let me know your first and last name and dates you would like to commit to work. A stand typically needs 12 people to run well. Keep in mind each person will make more money with more people working the events.

Friday, December 9th - Kings vs Knicks

Monday, December 12th - Kings vs Lakers

Tuesday, December 20th - Kings vs Trail Blazers

Monday, December 26th - Kings vs 76ers

Saturday, December 31st - Kings vs Grizzlies

For each event:

Check in Time: 3pm

Door Time: 4pm

Game Time: 6pm

If you commit to working an event and do not show, CCAA will be charged a $75 fee.

Here’s some info for fundraising at Golden One Arena:

You may not have any visible tattoos or facial piercings. Your hair color must be a natural color (no rainbow colors).

You must be 18 or older to work an event. The group receives an 8% commission from the gross sales of that stand. The commission and tips will be divided equally among the volunteers working that event.

There will be no parking provided so you will have to find your own parking

Check in at G1C: Is 2 hrs before event time on attached calendar. If you are the shift lead (manager) you will need to be 3 hours before the event.

Uniform: You must provide dark, denim blue jeans (no holes or faded etc). Boot cut. No straight leg, white t-shirt, Black rubber sole shoes. The arena will provide uniform shirts that will be returned at the end of each event. Please let me know your shirt sizes so I can turn them in before each event.

At this time a food-handlers certification is all you need to work. When they have TEAM training dates I will let everyone know.

A Food Handler Certification –

First go to http://www.caFoodhandlers.c om  click on the Login/Register tab, then Student.  After entering their name and date of birth, you should enter this Facility ID CENTERPCA where there are asked for the name of their Food Service Employer when they register.  And after you have completed the required training and taken the test, you will be directed to a Pay Fee menu.  About half way down the page there will be a gray box where it asks for the PO, there is where you enter CENTERPCA. It allows you to override the payment process.

If that doesn't work you can enter promo code efoodvolunteer to get it for $5.00.

You will need to send me a copy of your certification before you work an event.

Please contact me with any questions/concerns.

It’s going to be fun.

Thanks.

  • 20+ hula-hoops
  • rubber bands (the thicker and stronger, the better!)
  • 4+ matching sponges (large / "car washing" sized)

Dear CCAA parents!  One of the best ways to know what is going on at our dependent charter school and have some say in our governance is to be on the Executive Committee, in accordance with our recently renewed charter.  At this time, our School Site Council has all of its required members. Please consider completing the self-nomination form below and return it by the due date as stated.

The Executive Committee is responsible for adopting a budget (except as required by state or federal law), deciding the school’s supplemental curricula, making recommendations to the district about classroom and administration staffing, bell schedule, and extracurricular activities.  The CCAA Executive Committee is the governing body of the charter school as that term is used in Education Code Section 47633. If any member fails to attend three consecutive meetings, the other members may vote to remove that person and appoint a qualified person to the remainder of that term. The EC shall hold regular meetings at least every six weeks throughout the school year in addition to special meetings as needed. PARENT MEMBERS MAY NOT BE EMPLOYED BY TRUSD.

Greetings CCAA Families,

I wish to welcome you back to the start of our 2016-17 school year!

Since my assignment as Principal here I have been busy meeting with staff, parents and students in order to know how I can best serve the CCAA school community. We have just completed a series of Professional Development days where we began to lay a foundation for collaboration, arts integration, and team building.

I have been inspired by our initial work and I must report that I am thrilled at the opportunities we have to rebuild our wonderful program and work toward a well articulated K-12 program.

Back to School Nights on Wednesday, August 10 for the K-6 campus and Thursday, August 11 for the 7-12 campus will provide a nice introduction and focus on learning. I hope that you will attend these events which begin at 5pm with an Ice Cream Social sponsored by our PTO.

I look forward to the work ahead as I am committed to making CCAA the best program for educating our students in the most engaging/arts integrated environment.

Best wishes for a successful start to the new year, and the many more to come!

Race for the Arts FAQ

Q: When I get pledges and collect money, where do I turn in the money?

A: Pledge monies may be turned in the day of the race, or may be mailed (new address this year) by October 1 to:

Race for the Arts

P. O. Box 799

Folsom, CA 95763

Please make checks payable to "Race for the Arts." Be sure to designate CCAA as the school you want your donations to benefit.

Q: On the day of the race where do we meet?

A: We try to meet at our booth, which the location is not known until the day of the race. So we try to wear our spirit ware and stand out with signs and banners to show our school spirit and hope that we can all meet up near the start line. So keep your eyes peeled for CCAA signs and spirit to gather our group.

Q: How does my child earn community service hours at this event?

A: Attending Race for the Arts and participating in the fun run will get your child 4 community service hours. Collecting pledges and turning them in on the day of the event to the Race for the Arts pledge booth can earn additional hours. Time spent on calling, writing, or collecting money from family and friends counts towards additional hours for community service. If you need help determining how this works feel free to ask Mrs. Gordon or Mrs. Corben, we would be happy to help.

Q: How does a parent earn Parent Volunteer Hours (PVH) at this event?

A: To earn PVH at this event you can sign up to work at the PTO booth. Contact Mrs. Gordon if you are interested in earning hours. (Note: participating in the race does not earn PVH)

Q: If 100% of the money collected goes to CCAA, why don't I just give the money to CCAA?

A: You could donate directly to CCAA, but Race for the Arts is a fun and educational day that exposes our children to the Arts in our community. This gives us a chance to expose our school to the community as well. It is an art celebration. Join us!

Q: Are there group discounts?

A: Yes, turn in your registration form and money to Mrs. Gordon by Friday, August 12 to be a part of the 20% discounted group rate. Discounted rates: 5K Run/Walk $24, Kids Fun Run (must be 15 and under) $12. Make checks payable to Race for the Arts.

Message from the Principal

By Larry Tosta

It is hard to believe that the end of the school year has arrived!

The year’s end always brings with it a strong sense of accomplishment-so many things have happened this year! From our Charter being renewed to our field trips and, of course, upcoming graduation – our staff, students, and parents have been involved in an extraordinary number of activities. Of course, we should not forget the tremendous amount of learning which has taken place during the year. Throughout all of these activities our students have demonstrated great character and integrity which is a reflection of the expectations of the CCAA community of teachers, staff, and parents.

To the community at large - I would like to honor the Creative Connections Arts Academy community for everything it does to support our students. No one person makes CCAA a special place for teaching and learning-It takes the collaborative efforts of teachers, paraprofessionals, office staff, custodians, school nurse, cafeteria workers, and parents to build a school community that is devoted to doing what is right for kids.

To our graduates – congratulations on your achievement. The CCAA staff wish you all the best as you move forward and remember that we will always support you. We look forward to hearing from the graduates in the future and we hope that each of them will have gained a firm foundation for their education while at CCAA. We know that many of you will visit staff members at the school in the next few years.

For those families who will be returning in September, school will begin on Tuesday, August 9th. As a reminder, class lists will be revised up until the beginning of school. This will be how your children find out who their teacher will be. For this reason, class lists will be posted on Friday, August 6th.

On behalf of the staff, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy summer.

Welcoming Mr. Ed Delgado

VP Emerson

The TRUSD community is pleased to announce that Edward Delgado will become Principal for Creative Connections. Mr. Delgado has worked in the TRUSD since unification. Prior to unification, Mr. Delgado worked in Rio Linda District. He has been a fixture in this community for over 25 years. Mr. Delgado is a strong leader who has enormous energy and shares our vision to support outstanding teaching and learning opportunities with our students. CCAA staff and students would like to extend a warm welcome to Mr. Ed Delgado and we feel excited and blessed to have such an accomplished Administrator coming to work with our unique community.

Summer Break

VP Emerson

As we close one year and take a well-deserved summer break, it is important to remember to check the school website and Facebook pages for any updates. Any policy changes, opportunities for Parent Involvement hours, community service and calendar changes will be noted here. I encourage everyone to enjoy their break and relax before August 9th when we return.

Office Information

The Arutas office is will close on June 16th and re-open beginning July 26th. Hours will be from 8-3 p.m. The Walerga office will close on June 24th will re-open July 19th.

Absences

If your student has any uncleared absences within the past 2 weeks, please take a moment to call the office at either site to get them cleared.

Junior/High school Orientation

Orientation for 7-12 will be on August 2nd. Look for a letter with details in the end of July.
