Attention all CRAB FEED LOVERS!  PTO is hosting a crab feed on February 13 at 7 PM.   $45 Tri Tip, $50 Hot Crab, $60 for both.  See attached flier for details or to order tickets
We need helpers to make the crab feed happen!  Sign up to assist by visiting our Volunteer Opportunities page and clicking on the VolunteerSpot button for the event.

Get parent hours quickly and easily!


Make 10 copies of this Crab Feed flyer then post them in your office, church, dentist office, daycare, grocery store, etc. Post on Facebook and share with your friends and family.


This event is geared as a community event. Our parents can be instrumental in helping PTO and CCAA succeed. Get 1 parent hour for every 10 flyers posted/distributed. Get 1 parent hour if you take a picture of this flyer and post on Facebook or any other social media.


You can also earn parent hours by donation items. Each class is making a basket (see list below for class theme). Every $10 in donations is 1 parent hour. Please turn receipts into Patty Kellenbarger at the Walerga office.  If you know of a business that you think might want to donate an item, please let PTO know at ccaaboardpto@gmail.com.

Donations are needed for CCAA's annual Father-Daughter Dance, Friday February 5th from 7-9:30 at the Walerga Campus.


All perishable items can be dropped off at the Walerga site on Feb 5 after school. Non-perishable items can be taken to Mrs. Julia Gordon's classroom. 

Please let us know what you're bringing so we can make plans to fill in the gaps. Thank you for supporting our school!

There will be another Prom Committee Meeting Next Tuesday February 9th @ 6:00 in the library at Walerga.  If you are interested in helping out with the Prom in any way, please come to our meeting. You get parent and or student hours and get to be involved in helping create a magical night for our Junior & Seniors.

6th-9th Grade Students are invited to attend "College: Making it Happen" at Sac State on April 2.  See attached fliers and register soon so you can get into the workshops of your choice.  

Parents who drive multiple students to the event can submit the driving time (apx. 1 hour) as parent hours!

As part of its ongoing dedication to help foster education, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) today announced the launch of its fourth annual PG&E Better Together STEM Scholarship program. The program awards a total of $1 million in scholarships to local high school, community college and “non-traditional” students pursuing higher education in the fields of science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM). Scholarship winners will receive up to $20,000 per year for up to five years; program finalists will receive $2,000 towards their studies.  applications due Feb 29.  See attached flier for more details.


The HACEMOS Scholarship Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2016-2017 HACEMOS Scholarship Program. Applications are now being accepted online through https://www.scholarsapply.org/hacemos and are due February 20, 2016. 

The HACEMOS Scholarship Program is designed to assist students of Hispanic heritage and/ or dependents of HACEMOS members to obtain a college degree. The award amount is $1,500 for students attending two-year colleges and $2,500 for students attending four-year colleges during the 2016-2017 academic year. Successful candidates are selected on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, personal strengths, and leadership.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Awards are for undergraduate study only.


 Applicants must meet all of the following criteria: 

  • Be of Hispanic heritage OR be a dependent* child of an active HACEMOS member. 
  • Current high school seniors, high school graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates 25 years of age or younger as of the application deadline.
  • Plan to enroll in an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, or university located in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam or any other U.S. territory for the 2015-2016 academic year. 
  • Enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester in coursework leading to a degree. 
  • Have a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale or equivalent).
  • *Dependent child is defined as a biological, step- or legally adopted child living in the member's household or primarily supported by the member. Open to DREAMers? There is no request for citizenship status.Scholarship Deadline: February 20, 2016
  • Awards: The only mode of application will be a web-based e-application.  The recipient selection process includes the consideration of academic performance, financial need, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience,a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.
